The Most Popular Transportation Methods
The London Underground
Possible the most famous transportation method in London, the London Underground (or the ‘Tube’, as it is know to locals) is a comprehensive train transportation system that weaves through downtown London all the way to several London suburbs. You can download a very helpful map of the underground system, which will give you a very useful overlay of the tube system on the map itself. Alongside this, you can also get paper maps that are available completely free of charge at any tube station; this is something that a lot of people do not know but can make all of the difference.
At Broadgate GP, we are situated nearby many different London Underground stops, including:
- Liverpool Street – One of the closest train stations to our private GP practice in London, you can get off the tube here and walk for a minute or two to reach us.
- Moorgate – Very close to our practice is Moorgate station, and you only to walk for a few minutes once you step off the train, in order to reach our premises.
- Blackfriars Station – Further away than the two stations mentioned above, you can also reach us by leaving the tube at Blackfriars station.
- City Thameslink – You can step out of City Thameslink station, and take a ten-minute walk if you would like to do so.
If you want to know whether or not there are other train stations that you can make use of, just search for Broadgate GP on Google and take a quick look.
Regardless of the nature of your visit, be it Sexual health related, HIV testing or more recently for private COVID testing we hope you can get to us with ease.
Double-Decker Buses
Yes, old double-decker buses are no longer used, but there are a lot of modern ones that run all day, every day in London. Buses are a brilliant option if you are interested in seeing some London sights while you travel, or if you don’t have a train station nearby. Although, it is important to remember that buses are not the best transportation option if you are in a hurry or late for your appointment. If this is the case, you can call us to let us know and we will try to come up with a solution for you.
Walking
If you have a little more time, or have the energy to do so, you could walk to our private GP practice in London. London is a city that you can just walk through, and is one of the best ways to get to know the city itself. However, we do not recommend walking from one end of the city to the other if you do not feel up to it.
Biking Around
This is a really great option for travelling around London, and there are bike rental stations all over the place if you do not have your own bike. There are bike lanes throughout the city, and drivers in London are used to navigating around bikes on the road.
Taxis
Popular through the entire world, taxis are a great (bot not necessarily cost-effective) way to travel. There are so many taxi ranks in London, we are absolutely certain that you will not have trouble getting one; from single black cabs to branded taxis, we are sure that you will find one in mere minutes.
